In keeping with the action plan of NAAC towards performance evaluation, assessment, accreditation, and quality enhancement of higher education institutes, it is pertinent that every accredited institution establishes an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) for ensuring quality after accreditation. The work of the IQAC is the first step towards the internalization and institutionalization of quality enhancement initiatives. Its success depends upon mutual cooperation, teamwork, and collaborative efforts from all members of the institution. The IQAC is envisioned to be a facilitative and participative body of the institution, not just another hierarchical structure or record-keeper at the institute. Thus, IQAC has the potential to become a vehicle for building a quality culture in the institute via planned interventionist strategies, initiatives, and joint efforts that will reduce deficiencies and enhance quality, akin to “Quality circles” in industries.

The IQAC at DME is a nodal agency for monitoring the working of the institution and is committed to overall quality enhancement.
