Clubs
With an objective to help students to pursue their hobbies and interests and to bring people together, the student clubs are created at DME. As a club member one knows about one’s self, one’s interests, and one’s goals. Students can unravel their strengths like multitasking, organization skills, team-building skills, leadership skills, and service-mindedness. Networking opportunities being major benefit Club members develop bond among themselves which help in growing their careers. Association of students with clubs helps in showcasing one’s domain interest, the balance between work and hobbies. At DME we have various clubs and one of them is DME Eco Club.

DME ECO CLUB
INTRODUCTION :
- Eco clubs play an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generation.
- It is a platform where we get knowledge about environment. It also enables the students to be sensitive towards environmental concern to tackle environmental problems.
- Teach skills to help individuals and social groups for identify and solve environmental problems.
- Lead the students towards action to participate in appropriate action to help solve these problems and avoid future problems.
OBJECTIVES:
- To educate the students about their environment.
- To create a clean and green consciousness among students through various innovative methods.
- To mobilize students towards scientific enquiry into environmental problem.
- To involve them in efforts to preserve environment.
- To spread awareness about environmental pollution and to reduce pollution in the college campus
- To use different media such as short films, audio, visual and print, advertisements, hoarding, posters, seminars, workshops, competitions, meetings etc. for spreading messages concerning environment and awareness
- To prepare and organize students’ participation for preservation and conservation of environment
- To motivate students how to imbibe habits and life style for minimum waste generation.

Events
Saving Water and Electricity Drive
The first step towards change is awareness and the second step is acceptance. With this spirit in minds and the enthusiasm to develop a holistic idea of saving water and electricity in students, faculties and other staff members of DME in and around college, DME Eco Club conducted an activity on 17th January,2020 in College campus in which the student members pasted stickers stating “Please switch off lights and fans when not in use” in classes, faculty rooms and other areas where switch boards were present and posters of “save water, save life” wherever in DME water taps are present. The posters were put with the aim of saving water which will save millions of lives and to save electricity which is one of the most important facet for living a life. Saving electricity means that we should use it when necessary and should avoid wasting it. There are many ways of saving electricity like turning off lights when leaving a room, replacing conventional bulbs with energy saving bulbs and use of other appliances that use less energy. The activity was carried out under the guidance of Ms. Navjot Suri, Faculty coordinator along with student convenor Saurabh and co- convenor Riya and student members of DME Eco club Kashish Kapoor, Sanyam, Abhishek Kaushal, Kanak mittal and Prakriti.
Tree Plantation Drive Organised By DME Eco Club In Association With Nirbhed Foundation
Considering the manifold benefits of trees, including that they release oxygen into the air, absorb unpleasant odours as well as harmful gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and sulphur dioxide from the air and purify it, protect us from dangerous ultra-violet rays, provide us with food and the pivotal role played by trees in preventing soil erosion, maintaining ecological balance and most especially in lessening the effects of global warming. DME Eco Club conducted this drive-in association with Nirbhed Foundation an NGO working in Indrapuram Ghaziabad on 20th January 2020 in which the student members planted the saplings, watered the same and led a new way towards giving birth to a new plant. Tree plantation is not just something that should be done; instead, it is a necessity, the urgent need of the hour. Planting of trees is especially important to protect our environment against air pollution and global warming. The activity was carried out under the guidance of Ms. Navjot Suri, Faculty coordinator along with student members of DME Eco Club.

Trees are the foremost source for producing the oxygen in environment, they help to reduce the level of CO2. As we all know that the whole world is facing the problem of global warming and to recover from such problem planting the trees is become one of the most important aspects today. Importance of tree plantation should be discussed to save our earth from destruction and the lives surviving on it. In this growing industrial and technological era, pollution has become a major problem. Many animals and birds are facing the threat of extinction due to the lack of their natural habitat. Considering the manifold of trees, Tree Plantation Programme was organized by Barclays in association with Delhi Metropolitan Education Eco club at Green Belt no. 2 Sector 62 Noida on 28th February,2020.
To maintain the ecological balance this programme was organised with lot of sincerity and seriousness. The drive was a huge success with almost 100 volunteers participating with great enthusiast in it. Many students from Delhi Metropolitan Education also volunteered for the same in which the student members planted the saplings, watered the same, and led a new way towards giving birth to a new plant. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. N.K Bahl, Dean DME Law School, Prof. Dr. Bhavish Gupta, Head of Academics, Prof. Dr. Sushmita Bala ,Head of Department BJMC and Prof. Dr. Ravi Kant Swami, Director DME.The activity was carried out under the guidance of Ms. Navjot Suri, Faculty Coordinator , Student Convenor, Mr. Saurabh Singh and Student Co-Convenor , Ms. Riya Mittal and other members of DME Eco Club.
Poster Making Competition 2020
Life in the time of pandemic can be really scary, stressful, and isolating, so we all should contribute our time towards the environment and make it healthy for our better living. To subside the boredom, in this time of global pandemic DME ECO CLUB organized an Online Poster Making Competition for DMEians. This was a golden opportunity for all the art students to show their talent. The topic for the competition was the Benefits of lockdown to the environment. The competition was a great success with a great number entries of beautiful posters. The competition helped the students to enhance their skills and devote some time and create awareness about the benefits of a pandemic for the environment. The competition was judged by Ms. Komal Kapoor ( Convenor DME Art society) and Ms. Akansha Marwah ( Co-convenor DME Art society). The activity was carried out under the guidance of Ms. Navjot Suri, Faculty coordinator along with student convenors Saurabh Singh and Riya Mittal and Core Members, Vishal Khatri, and Kashish Kapoor.
- The first position was secured by Shreya Bhatnagar (BALLB 2018-2023).
- The second position was secured by Deeksha Chouhan (BALLB 2017-2022).
- The third position was secured by Abhilyasha Tyagi (BA.JMC 2019-2022).
Best Out of Waste Competition 2020
With the growing increase in the number of wastes in our society from households to industrial wastes, we now require a very innovative approach to get rid of this issue. Recycling and reusing valuable waste material can result in the development of fantastic and usable products. Rather than putting these waste materials into landfills, various innovative and creative ideas can be put together to bring something new and useful. DME Eco Club organized the Best out of waste Competition with the name “REGARD BEFORE YOU DISCARD” through the virtual platform during growing technological age. The main objective of this event was to make students think of innovative ideas by which reusing of everyday materials can be done which will not only reduce the waste disposal but will also provide them with recycled new useful products. This idea was indeed very useful and helpful in creating environment consciousness which is the need of the hour. The activity was carried out under the guidance of Ms. Navjot Suri, Faculty coordinator along with student convenors Saurabh Singh and Riya Mittal and Core Members, Vishal Khatri, and Kashish Kapoor.
