Delhi Metropolitan Education in association with ‘Hyundai’ hosted the first cultural annual fest “ALOHA” on 31st March 2017. The event was diligently organised with a soul in it that was vibrant, contagious and exuberant. The college was beautifully decorated by the art society which added a feather in the cap. The proud sponsors for the event were ‘food rush-the perfect food mart’, ‘INOX’, ‘twenty19’, ‘United Colors of Benetton’, ‘CSM’, ‘gold’s gym’, ‘pizza hut’, ‘SMAAASH’, ‘K-9 cab’. The event was a gala affair that was organised by organising committee of students and teachers along with the support from the college management.
More than 40 colleges participated in this extravaganza. Music is the reflection of your mind and soul and the very first event for the day was all about music and singing.The first event was solo singing (Indian) judged by Priya Badoni. The first position was secured by Abhishek Mathur and second position was bagged by Akshita Bhat. Solo singing (western) was judged by Mr. Anmol and was won by Hridyanshi Parmar followed by Jinsie. The day was high on glamour quotient as the fashionistas glammed up the ramp by setting their foot forward in the event of fashion parade. The event of fashion parade was judged by Paragi Dubey, and the first position was secured by BJMC department of DME and second position by BBA department of DME as well. All the participants were seen in high spirit and were enjoying the fest to its fullest.
The event of Hindi debate was judged by Shively Goswami and the winner of first position was Kanika and second position was secured by Rishyap Singh. English debate was won by Pooja and second position was grabbed by Ashutosh. The artistic side of the participants was also unveiled in the Face painting event, judged by Indra Prakash and first position was secured by Priyanshi Aggarwal and Harshimran Kaur came second. How can a cultural fest be complete without any event of dance in it? Participants were seen in full zeal and enthusiasm. Solo dance was judged by Baani Dua and Pulkit Sharma bagged the first position and Shivani came second. Group dance was judged by Agranshu Deep and Sriaurobindo college bagged the first position and Hansraj college came second.
Apart from the cultural activities, the college had organised some delicious food corners to suit the appetite and taste buds of the participants. The results were shortly announced followed by the much awaited EDM night and DJ Carnivore and DJ Berry Gangsta were the star performers for the evening. The crowd was seen grooving and rejoicing to the electric numbers and music beats. The event came to end with everybody looking forward to witness it again the next year.
