REPORT OF THE FDP AT THE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW AND LEGAL STUDIES
AT GGSIPU, NEW DELHI
September 11th to 13th, 2014

The University School of Law and Legal Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University organized a FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME from September 11th to 13th, 2014. Various Colleges and Institutes affiliated to the University attended and participated in it. The three faculties from Delhi Metropolitan Education Center, Greater Noida sent to the programme were Dr.Ramani Swarna,Ms.Aditi Singh and Ms.Poonam Sharma. The main activities and highlights of the programme were the following:
a) Understanding the changes of the New Curriculum Of B.A.LLB and BBA LLB courses.
b) Focus on The Professional Skill Development Activities as per the new syllabus
c) Collating and brainstorming sessions between various faculty groups as per the subject
d) Arriving at different number of activities to be conducted in the First Semester for each of the five subjects
On the first day of the FDP, there was an Orientation and Inaugural Programme wherein Prof.Ranbir Singh-the Vice Chancellor of NLU, Delhi gave the introductory speech for the benefit of the faculty members and students present in the Auditorium of the University. He introduced different kinds of online web-portals exclusively meant for research purposes, gave importance of research and writing activities for the faculty members, participation of the students from the first year onwards and the importance of young and new lawyers in our country.
The Orientation was meant for the faculty members attending the FDP on September 11th, 2014. Prof.AfzalWani stress on the development of skills for the students as per the subjects and the benefits of such activities.
The second day was a group and subject wise brainstorming sessions between the faculty members. The points highlighted were the following:
a) Prepare a list of various activities according to the new syllabus
b) Collate different ideas from individual teachers
c) Aim and the reason behind such activities
d) Total number of activities which would be conducted in all affiliated Colleges, Institutes and the University
e) Designing of the course material
The third day was dedicated for the presentations as per the subject and every group came up with a common set of activities to develop the students. These were presented by one member of each group after proper discussions and reaching at a concise conclusion. There was a general round of discussion among the faculty members and Prof. Wani. The day was concluded with the distribution of the certificates and book-mementoes.
