As part of the consistent endeavour to instil students with practical exposure to the industry, special industrial visits are planned for BBA students from time to time. The industrial visits are an integral part of the teaching methodology adopted in the BBA programme. The idea is for students to practically see the management concepts that are taught in the classrooms. The purpose of these visits is to provide a glimpse of the actual processes and procedures to be followed at the workplace. It gives students valuable insight into what actually happens inside the mighty walls of an organization. Students are given the opportunity to observe the industrial processes, people processes and the facilities. Company officials also conduct interactive sessions with the students to give them inputs on the company’s or industry’s inner workings, the vision, mission, philosophy, latest offerings, etc. The students use such sessions to raise valid questions, clarify their doubts and quench their curiosity about the company or the industry.Thus, industrial visits aid in grooming the students’ business acumen, practical understanding and industry readiness, all the makings of a future management professional.

The industrial visits form an important highlight of the students’ campus activities and students look forward to such trips not just as a learning intervention, but also as a means of having some fun. Here are a few Kodak moments from the recent industrial visits:

On 14th August, 2019 DME Management School, BBA 2nd year students,  visited YAKULT DANONE INDIA PVT. LTD., SONEPAT accompanied by two faculty members,  Dr. Pooja Sharma, Ms. Monika Kadam & Mr. Swaraj Manchanda. The objective of this industrial visit was to familiarize the students with the production and processing aspects at Yakult Danone India (P) Limited. Yakult has received ISO 9001: 2008, HACCP and OHSAS accreditation for manufacturing a safe and quality product for its consumers.

The students were welcomed by, PR Manager. Thereafter they were given a brief presentation on the establishment of Yakult and its marketing strategies. They were informed that Yakult Danone India is a joint venture between Japanese & French industry. The capacity of the plant is 10 lakhs bottles (units) per day and the milk produced is of excellent quality containing billions of useful bacteria which are essential for proper functioning of digestive system.

The visit was divided into two phases:

1. An introductory presentation on Yakult by Plant operations executive

2. Factory Tour

Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd. is a 50:50 joint venture between Yakult Honsha of Japan and Group Danone of France. Yakult is a probiotic drink which contains more than 6.5 billion beneficial bacteria Lactobacillus casei strain shirota. It was in 1930 that Dr. Minoru Shirota, a Japanese scientist discovered a special strain of bacteria that was beneficial to human health. This Friendly Bacteria helps in improving digestion, build immunity and prevent infections.
