The annual cultural festival of Delhi Metropolitan Education (DME), ALOHA-2018 which is celebration of youth, camaraderie and freedom, was organised with zeal and enthusiasm at Expocentre, Sector-62, in Noida on Friday. Sukh-E, the Punjabi singer-songwriter and music producer of chartbuster single ‘Sniper’ fame with his super hit number ‘Kude Kainde baby Jaguar ledo’ started his performance. As he took his performance to next level, DME students were on their toes. Sukh-E took no time and soon he belted out his energetic songs like Suicide and Superstar which further upper the ante and filled the venue with high volt energy. Earlier in the first half of the fest, renowned Radio Jockey, Naved from FM 98.3 Mirchi also interacted with DME students and set the mood for the event. Naved while interacting with the students laid emphasis on the use of local languages. Akanksha, the official voice of the cartoon Shinchan also graced the occasion with her presence.
Hundreds of students from the colleges of Delhi University, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and Amity University took part in the gala event. Various competitions like as solo-singing, solo dance, Mr. and Miss Aloha, group dance, debate, group song, fashion parade were organised. While Akash Bansal of DME bagged the title of Mr ALOHA, Shivani Ghansila of PGDAV College of DU won the Miss ALOHA title. In solo singing competition Shivani from PGDAV secured first position while Pulkit Sharma of Dayal Singh with his locking picking moves won the title of solo dance competition. Winners of other events like debate include Kanika of Hindu College. In Poster Making event, Nikita of DME was announced the winner. All the winners were awarded with prizes and goodies. Looking forward to ALOHA – 2019.
